Introductions are boring. I much prefer being far enough into something like this that I don't have to explain myself, talk about the purpose of the blog, blah blah blah, etc. But that's not an option, obviously. So here we go.
Let's start by talking about the name. It means "culture-death" in German. There was really no special reason for it to be German--it just looks better that way. To be clear, this isn't some kind of lamentation over the fact that the culture is dying or something like that. It's a goal. I'd be happy if I live to see the day where culture itself has crumbled into nonexistence, and every person is forced to choose their own way, rather than being chained up by some nonsensical traditions. The point of this blog is to call out all the instances of idiocy I see in the culture I encounter, be they in politics, pop culture, or whatever else.
America's culture is rancid. It reeks of corporatism, fundamentalism, and authoritarianism. (I'm well aware of the irony of complaining about corporatism when I'm using a blogging site that Google owns, by the way.) Our politicians are frauds, our economy is run by gluttonous swine who eat their fill from the products of everyone else's labor, and our populace is dimwitted and anti-intellectual. So I'll have a lot to talk about on here. I won't be posting on some kind of "regular basis," but I do expect to be posting fairly often. So if what I've ranted about so far captures your interest, feel free to return and check up on what else I've published. If it didn't, then clearly you're just another sheep led around by the establishment. (That's a joke, by the way).
